Safety

All of our cosmetics products are safety assessed and a Cosmetic Product Safety Report (CPSR) is created before they are put on sale, meeting all current EU standards set out in EU Regulations EC No 1223/2009 (Previously EU Cosmetics Directive). The 2013 Regulations require that all products are micro-biologically (Preservative Efficacy Test) and Stability tested before the Cosmetic Product Safety Report can be made. Therefore we can be and you can be sure that our products are safe. We are strongly against animal testing, none of our products or ingredients have been tested on animals. All our products are made in Peterborough and are produced to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).

Safety when using our products – performing a skin test.

Although all of our products are tested rigorously we cannot be sure that in individual cases reactions may occur. Mainly due to a specific ingredient used within one of our products. In order to prevent this scenario we request that you perform a small skin test before applying any of our products especially to large or sensitive areas.

To perform a skin test

1. Rub a small amount of the product on a piece of skin
2. Leave for a period of time
3. If a reaction occurs do not use the product

Sourcing Our Ingredients – a little bit about what we think.

You should care about what you put on your skin and this starts from where products are sourced from to how the ingredients are combined to create a product. We take pride in our products and want you to be proud to use them. Earthy Roots believe that natural is better and that the best ingredients produce the best products to do this we using natural ingredients sourced from where possible organic sources. All our ingredients are natural, free from parabens, petrochemicals, sulphates, synthetic fragrances and colourants.

We are an open company and will always answer questions on any product or ingredient used within our products or any query you may have. Or if you require any further information about any of our products please contact us.

Organic – Although we do use organic ingredients our balms are currently not certified as organic.

Food Safety – information regarding our hygiene.

Earthy Roots is a food registered business with a 5 star food hygiene rating and have procedures in place to ensure that all food standards are adhered to. We ensure safety in our products through a range of different ways. We apply Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) which is concerned with both production and quality control.

• Staff involved in the production of food grade items are trained to at least a Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene for Manufacturing, Catering & Retail.
• All jars are food grade and are sterilised before filling with our products.
• Batches are recorded in order to create traceability, sometimes the Expiry Date is the batch number.

Refund Policy

If you are unsatisfied with any of our products we will be happy to offer a replacement item. In certain cases a discount may be offered against your next purchase in such cases this will be credited to your Earthy Roots account balance. Please contact us with any complaints or queries about products delivered and we will arrange for one of the above or if required a refund to your credit/debit card. Non-perishable goods can be returned within 7 working days and refunded if not damaged, starting the day after purchase. We also from time to time use the PayPal refund service.
